The View From My Living Room Window Upper West Side New York City

Inspired by the view from her living room window. 8x11" watercolor on paper. 
This is the first piece that Nicky created after moving to New York City from Vancouver after being inspired by her surroundings. This particular seen is the view outside her living room window at sunset. Nicky's home town of Vancouver is surrounded by ocean and mountains and so Nicky wasn't sure how her new surroundings would impact her. To her surprise, Nicky was incredibly inspired and found immense beauty in all that New York City has to offer. This particular piece is inspired by the life that is lived above the side walk. The views outside of the apartment buildings where people live show signs of life and create a sense of wonder.
